The Church of Santa María de Cadaqués has the peculiarity of being at the highest point of the town, therefore, from a distance, it is easily visible, and for the same reason, the views from the church towards the bay are wonderful.
In order to get to it we will have to get lost in its alleys, which is not recommended if we are in a wheelchair or have a mobility problem.
The original church is from the 13th century but due to looting by pirates in the s. XVI had to be rebuilt and its current style is Gothic. The most important thing to highlight is the Baroque altarpiece by Pau Costa (1665-1727), made of gilt wood and maritime iconography.
The church of Santa María is normally closed, and only opens during religious services. We can also go to the Cadaqués Tourist Office to check if there is any guided tour during the high season.

The Salvador Dalí House-Museum was a small fisherman's house in Portlligat (province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain),
Salvador Dalí lived and worked regularly from 1930 until the death of his wife Gala in 1982, when he decided to move to Púbol Castle. It is currently used as a museum and is managed by the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation. It has been of Cultural Interest since 1997.
Salvador Dalí's house was built on the site of a former fishermen's huts in Portlligat. In 1929, Dalí bought the first hut from Lidia Nogués de Costa and shortly afterwards acquired the second hut. The first works of adaptation as a residence were carried out by the bricklayer Joaquim Ferrer. In 1935 a new floor was built for the two barracks, which were covered with a single tile roof and a single window per unit, overlooking the bay. In 1942, Gala and Dalí bought the barrack at the upper end, which was used as a library, with furniture specially designed and built by the Cadaqués carpenter Joan Vehí. In 1954 they acquired the last barrack to the northwest, facing the river from the cemetery. Later, in 1962, one of Gala's private rooms was built on the new floor.
After Gala's death in 1982, Dalí never returned to Portlligat.
Cadaqués is an spanish municipality located in the Alt Empordà region on the eastern side of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, at the end of the Rodes mountain range. The rugged and steep character of the coast is determined by the contact of the Pyrenees with the Mediterranean, featuring numerous coves, cliffs, and small islets.
The name of Cadaqués is believed to have evolved from "Cabo de Quers" (rock cape) due to the large number of rocks found, particularly in the Cap de Creus area. The town's population is around 3,000, but it multiplies considerably during the summer and holiday seasons.
From the website motion4rent.com, you can find important information, places of interest, and tourist offices, as well as accessible beaches, adapted excursions, theme parks, accessible restaurants, and other offers for visitors with reduced mobility. Enjoy your stay!

Cadaqués is a small town that is difficult to access as it is isolated from the rest of l'Empordà region due to its location between two mountains, the Puig de Paní and the Puig de Bufadors. As a result, during much of the 20th century, Cadaqués lived facing the sea and was practically isolated by land from neighboring towns.

Walk through the town:
Walking through Cadaqués can be challenging for people with reduced mobility due to the town's narrow and sloping streets. Many of the streets are cobbled with rocks extracted from the sea, making it difficult for wheeled vehicles to navigate.
The promenade (Calle Riba Nemesi Llorens) is well-paved and does not have a steep slope, making it a good option for people with reduced mobility. However, it is not recommended to explore the inner alleys of the town as they may have more obstacles and uneven surfaces.
It's always a good idea to check with the local tourist office or website for the most up-to-date information on accessibility and to plan your route accordingly.
