Rome combines world-class heritage with many accessible routes. With a mobility device you can enjoy plazas, avenues and museums with greater independence—at your own pace.
Yes—with nuances. Rome offers step-free entrances, lifts and accessible toilets across major museums and public venues. In the historic centre you’ll find cobblestones and occasional slopes, so some care is needed—but there are smooth alternatives and leveled routes. With a scooter or wheelchair and light planning, the experience is practical, safe and very rewarding.
Many of Rome’s must-sees are comfortable for wheelchair and scooter users:
Note: Catacombs and underground spaces often involve stairs and narrow passages, so they may not be accessible. Prefer museums and plazas with clearly marked accessible routes.
We deliver directly to hotels, flats, private addresses, major train stations (e.g., Termini, Tiburtina, Ostiense) and medical centers within Rome. You can also request delivery and collection at different addresses inside the city.
Yes. Most flagship museums and monuments provide ramps, lifts and clearly signed accessible routes. In very old buildings, a few areas may be limited, but there are always alternatives to enjoy the visit without barriers.
The most reliable options are low-floor buses and adapted taxis. The metro’s accessibility varies by station, so combining surface routes with bus/taxi is often the most comfortable way to cover longer distances.
Via dei Fori Imperiali (wide, level promenade overlooking the archaeological area), Villa Borghese (flat park), the Tridente (Piazza del Popolo – Via del Corso – Piazza di Spagna, long straight stretches) and historic plazas such as Navona or Campidoglio.

As you know, Rome is paved with cobblestones, and it is not evenly distributed everywhere. This can be problematic, but overall it was usable and can be recommended.

Definitely, Rome needs to improve the accessibility on streets with ramps to footpaths and metro stations. Cipro metro station the lift is our of service.

THis was my first trip to Rome and I am IN LOVE..... what an amazing city, even with all the thousands of tourists. the city is clean and runs so well. I come from South Africa, so the exchange rate was horrific for us, but I so enjoyed my time there. Thank you

Non e colpa vostra...ma vivo in una zona con molto sanpetrini e la machina non e molto adatta per questo.. Anche ho scelto una machina che non aveva la possibilità di andare molto lontana...allora non potevo sempre andar dove volevo....
