Die Altstadt ist leider nicht ganz Behindertengerecht. Hat aber trotzdem ganz gut mit dem Rollstuhl funktioniert.

There are plenty of curb cuts and ramps but they are inconsistent. In many places we had to pull the wheelchair backwards over a curb cut that wasn't quite level enough. Some ramps are incredibly steep, suitable for a light weight buggy but not a wheelchair. The roads and paths are not in great repair so we had to be careful to watch for holes where the chair would get stuck. The local drivers often park on pavements or directly on curb cuts. one restaurant had put out tables for customers that actually blocked a curb cut. We managed because my father could get out of the chair when we hit these problems and (for example) manage a few steps until the path continued. in addition many of the incredible tavernas and cafes that we visited are not set up with accessible toilets. On several occasions my father had to climb a flight of small steps to access a toilet. A great place to visit if you have some small mobility, or if you do some serious research about where to go. For someone who has a dodgy knee and needs a chair 95% of the time it was a bit of a pain but do-able

The electric wheel chair helped us to enjoy our visit because the chair worked perfectly.
