we stayed in the historic part of town, right near Clerigos Tower. This area is not very user friendly for the mobility impaired due to the extreme hilly terrain and cobblestone roads, but we managed. Other parts of the city were fine (along the river, for example)

Accessibility of Porto Old Town was difficult due the the lack of dropped kerbs. The newer area of Porto didn't appear to pose any problems, but the old down was more difficult to navigate our way around, not only looking for where we wanted to go, but were we all able to go - was the scooter able to cope - there were several times when we had to do a slight detour to find accessible kerbs. There must be other people in Porto with wheelchairs or mobility scooters who struggle to get around??

Some of the hills are too steep and difficult for the mobility scooter so that limited the use a little but still worth hiring it.
