Athens has an issue with allowing permanent obstructions in their sidewalks, gateways blocking all but a foot of pavement on either side, sign posts, lamp posts, and pavement with a clear history of having broken decades ago. At three separate occasions I had to lift either the front or the back end of the scooter to get it through obstructions-and the machine is heavy. Sidewalk cuts are very inconsistent-one side grants access to a crosswalk without an inlet on the other side, etc. Ermou was really a dream of accessibility after our trek from the hotel to Acropolis. My wife required the scooter, but I found myself leaning on the back of the seat to hold the drive wheels down on the pavement when it got really bumpy.

It was almost impossibile for me to get on and off of sidewalks autonomously. Sidewalks are often narrow and the whole wheelchair could not pass entirely.

When I rented the wheelchair from you, you subcontracted to Reha in Roma. Part way into the 1st day the wheel got bent and wasn’t working. The sidewalks of Rome were so bumpy and lots of holes. Then Reha said “you will have to pay a refund for the damage, I'm sorry... it will be about 20 €” It was insane we are being charged more for using it as a normal wheelchair!!!! They then didn’t charge us more, thankfully. We were very disappointed, by this and the inference of body shaming. When I rented the wheelchair from you, you subcontracted to Athens Mobility in Athens. They were very great to deal with and great to pick up and drop me off at the nearest bus station. He was very nice and very kind.
