This was our first experience using a wheelchair for more that going from the dr office to the car and the like. Reykjavik is hilly, many shops/restaurants are not wheelchair friendly with more than 3 steps at the entrance or bathrooms requiring use of stairs. Others such as Lebowski's have ramps and were helpful and welcoming!

The city is quite accessible for a scooter. You just have to be very careful with the traffic because even if the light is red, cars will still go through. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Access for wheelchairs is difficult in some establishments as the entrances are not adapted.

We did not see another person in a wheelchair our entire visit.
