We didn’t visit Cancun city itself but went to Playa del Carmen for the day and was all accessible with the scooter.

Some elevators were too small. Most doors requires another person to open, rather being accessible.

so, our resort was billed as accessible, and it is to an extent -- the ramps are trecherous though and best used for baby strolers and not wheelchairs. We were lucky to have my brother in law and husband around to get my dad around -- but we were only able to get to certain parts of the resort for safety and also access to bathrooms. My sister had contact with the resort prior to booking and was assured of all sorts of things -- including easy access to the beach, and it was not so. my dad had to stay at the main, loud pool in order to have fast (er) access to a bathroom and it was really not a great trip. We went off property a few times for dinner, and it was okay- but the cars and vans available for hire were also very difficult to access. we did it, but with great effort. this was not a relaxing vacation -- but the one surity was that dad had a place to sit because we rented the wheelchair and that made it possible get him around at all
