There is a distinct lack of dropped kerbs in most areas and where they are they are not particularly well designed. Some are quite high and also broken. The quality of pedestrian pavements is very poor with uneven surfaces and quite a few obstacles. Lots of rubbish bags blocking pavements and cars parked next to dropped kerbs making them unusable. A lot of the promenade along the sea front is of excellent quality but further down where all the road works are is a mess.

The fooftpaths in general are laid with cobble stone bricks and when one of them comes lose the hole it makes gets bigger and bigger with rainfall and wear and tear. This makes it very difficult to use a wheelchair. None of the paths have 'depressions' to facilitate wheelchair mobility. It would appear that little or no attention is given to making life easier for people with impaired mobility. Is this a 'local' response or a general lax attitude to people with disabilities in Malta ?

The pathways need to be much wider and smoother! They also need to have alot more dropped kerbs available.
