The promenade is good but it was impossible to take the chair up to the town centre. Also the lift in our hotel was very narrow and the chair was difficult to get through the doors.

The nearest airport to Torremolinos is the Malaga-Costa del Sol, a major airport in Spain that connects to major cities worldwide. With approximately 14 million passengers per year, it serves as the primary entry point for all of Andalusia.

How to get from the airport to Torremolinos:

The center of Torremolinos is only 7 km away from Malaga Airport, and there are several transportation options to choose from:


There is a train station at Malaga Airport where you can take the C1 train line to Fuengirola. The journey to Torremolinos takes approximately 15 minutes and trains run every 30 minutes. Both the airport station and Nogalera station in Torremolinos are accessible to people with mobility issues with the help of lifts and ramps.


There are two bus options from Malaga airport to Torremolinos:

The regular bus line: It leaves from Malaga airport and arrives in Torremolinos, specifically at Calle Hoyo 10. It is accessible for people with reduced mobility (PMR), and the trip takes about 40 minutes. The Flybus company: They offer a direct bus from the airport to Torremolinos that takes 15 minutes but at a higher cost. You may contact the Flybus company to make a reservation and inform them of your needs, as they have adapted vehicles available.


The taxi company Grande Malaga has several adapted vehicles and provides service at Malaga airport. You can contact them via their website, telephone, WhatsApp, SMS or email to make a reservation.



Transportation in the city:


Torremolinos has five train stations, with Nogalera being the central station. Nogalera station is 100% accessible for people with reduced mobility, with features such as lifts, ramps, and accessible toilets. Additionally, improvements have been made to the station lobby, including the installation of lifts to improve passenger traffic between the platforms.

Approximately 5,000 people pass through Nogalera station on a daily basis. The other four stations in Torremolinos are La Colina Station, Montemar Alto, Pinillo, and Los Álamos.

You can take the C1 line from Torremolinos to Malaga, and from there, you can travel to major cities throughout Spain via high-speed trains.


In Torremolinos, there are two bus lines, T1 and T2, that are accessible for passengers with reduced mobility. Recently, new buses have been added to the fleet to enhance accessibility.

T1 runs from Torremolinos to Aloha, while T2 runs from Torremolinos to Playamar.

Playa El Bajondillo in Torremolinos, is a beach with dark sand. It has more than a kilometer long and 45 meters wide, it is located practically in the center of the city, making it one of the busiest. Carihuela Beach

La Carihuela Beach in Torremolinos, is a beach with dark sand. It is 2,100 meters long and 30 to 60 meters wide, with a high occupancy rate.

On this beach we can find a pergola with three Civil Protection lifeguards, in addition to three amphibious chairs available to people with functional diversity. The area also has a footbridge to the shore, as well as access ramps. In addition, users have at their disposal two parking spaces, as well as a shower and toilet for men and women.

To get to Playa La Carihuela by car, the closest road is the CN-340 road, you can also get there by intercity bus.

Paseo Marítimo

The Torremolinos promenade, or "Paseo Marítimo," is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. It runs along the coast from the Playa del Saltillo in Carihuela to Playa de los Álamos, offering stunning views of the sea and several popular beaches along the way. 

The promenade is fully accessible to wheelchairs and has a bike lane. Along the way, visitors can find various services, including showers, hammock rentals, children's areas, restaurants, and beach bars. It is a recommended destination for those in wheelchairs, offering a beautiful and accessible experience.

Starting from Punta del Saltillo, heading east, the walk leads to the Fuente de la Salud, on this beach there are showers, hammock rental and various extra services, children's areas and restaurants to enjoy a good aperitif under the sun.

Further on is Playa José, a mythical family space with a sunbed and umbrella rental service.

If we continue the walk we will find several beach bars where you can have a drink or if you prefer, have lunch or dinner as they have a wide culinary offer. If we continue walking we arrive at Carihuela beach, one of the most popular and crowded beaches in Torremolinos.

Another of the beaches that we find on this route is Bajondillo beach, somewhat rockier but also beautiful, followed by Playamar and Los Alamos beaches.

It is a walk that we recommend in a wheelchair.
