Being from the USA, we are spoiled by being from a young & vast place. Rome, like most ancient cities has to balance change with antiquity. The rooms and showers are small. The streets and sidewalks are narrow and cobbled. Where possible ramps seem to be installed, but for many locations it is impracticable and sometimes where installed they are very steep. We found the processes to be welcoming - at all the ancient/tourist sites, we were ushered past the long lines, and given deep discounts for entry if charged at all.

Rome is beautiful, but the cobblestone streets can be challenging with a wheelchair. Wheelchairs with larger wheels would make getting around much easier and more comfortable. This company provides excellent, high-quality wheelchairs, and we had a great experience with them.
