Customers appreciate London's welcoming atmosphere and the genuine efforts staff make to assist visitors with reduced mobility, from helpful taxi drivers to attentive personnel at major attractions. While the city offers many accessible venues and improved infrastructure, customers note that sidewalk conditions vary considerably—with some areas featuring smooth pavements and others presenting challenges like uneven surfaces, steep curb cuts, and cobblestones—and recommend planning routes accordingly. The rental service consistently earns praise for reliable, timely delivery and pickup, responsive communication, and equipment that enables customers to explore London independently and comfortably.

The handoff to the partner provider was awkward, last minute, and seemed a little sneaky. There was zero problems with the handoff though so I can’t really complain.

I could not speak higher of this company. Their attention to detail, making sure the item was what I needed, that it had been delivered on time and after I kept extending the rental time, letting me know that was fine with them and the final collection was very easy also. Thank you very much.

I was hoping I could use the Tube, but learned that only a third of the stations are wheelchair accessible, so I took the bus back-and-forth to my destination on two days. The bus worked well. I used it in a black taxi, it fit. All black taxis have ramps. Unlike New York City were only some of the taxi cabs have ramps. I also used my manual wheelchair on several taxi rides and am pleased to say that nobody ever refused to give me a ride claiming their ramp was broke, which is something that has happened to me on more than one occasion in New York City. Instead, each cab driver got out without complaint and manually pulled out his ramp for me, which often took some tugging and pulling to get the ramp to work, but that did not stop them from assisting me. The railway service at Paddington station was excellent. I used the train to go to Oxford with my mobility scooter. All you have to do is notify them two hours in advance and they have a team of people to assist the disabled. Of course they helped me on the train with ramps and then arranged for somebody to be there as my destination at my coach door to get me off the train. Nothing like this exists in America that I’m aware of here in New Jersey or New York City or Philadelphia. In addition on the day I left I was using my manual wheelchair at Saint Pancra, and that same Assistance team picked me up from where the taxi drops you off down to the train. Taking the Chunnel from Saint Pancras was only difficult in one sense. I arrived at Saint Pancras in my manual wheelchair and they did not have assistance from the curb to the accessibility point location which is located in the center of the station. But after a short bit Railway workers who aren’t on the assistant team took pity on me and pushed me to the accessibility point. Once at the accessibility point, they are excellent in getting you through customs and security and onto the train. Same experience in Lille. They were excellent once I got to the accessibility point which is located at the far end of the station. Museums in London are completely accessible with ramps and lifts. The curbs are all cut out properly not like New York City’s lousy excuses for cutouts. The only difficulty was restaurants. Every place seemed to have steps to get inside and not every place had a ramp to put out for me. But many did have ramps, which again is not my experience in New York City. Overall, I felt that the city of London is very conscientious of the disabled and make great efforts to assist. I know that they are working on making more and more tube stations accessible so maybe one day that will be an option.

Better than I expected for such an old city, London had gone out of their way to improve accessibility when compared to the other UK cities we visited on this trip.

The mobility scooter gave me the freedom to explore every inch of London which I couldn't have done while waiting for a new knee and hobbling along on a crutch.
